October 2013 Theatre Picks

6th-25th October
Vibrant 2013 A Festival of Theatre Playwrights at the Finborough Theatre, London. In it's fifth year, with a great range of plays from an alternate reality musical to a new verbatim translation. See them here before they get hit the big time.

8th-26th October
Bryony Kimmings: Credible Likeable Superstar Role Model at Soho Theatre, London. Winner of Edinburgh Fringe First and quite rightly so.

9th October - 2nd November
David Greig's The Events at Young Vic, London. Another Edinburgh Fringe First winner a brutal play, armed with the CoroEdina Choir.

14th Oct- 4th November
Theatre Rites' Bank on It at Warwick Arts Centre. The only site specfic show for 5 year olds about banking and economics that I know of, that is currently touring.

15th October- 2nd November
Made in China's Gym Party at BAC, London. Commissioned by Pulse Festival and the BAC, fresh from a critically acclaimed run at Summerhall, Edinburgh.

18th-26th October
Dial Ulrike & Eamon Compliant Blast Theory, Frequency Festival, Lincoln. Originally part of the Venice Bienalle, Blast Theories mobile phone project about terrorism, based on the Baader Meinhoff will definitely be interesting.

22nd October & 24th October
Landscape 2 & Moon Project at Brighton Dome. I'm very excited about new investments in programming at Brighton Dome. Loads more local and national theatre makers showcasing there work can only be a good thing. Particularly keen to see new stuff from the imaginative Melanie Wilson and the enigmatic Rachel Blackman.

30th October-2nd November
Gecko's Missing at Derby Playhouse. Last chance to see Gecko in performance this year. If you haven't seen this already, I'm not going to say you are an idiot, but I will say you are 'missing' something.
